WEEK ONE
August 30:
Homo sapiens started off in Africa, where the revolution and change of humans first began. The Homo sapiens followed the footsteps of a species who lived before them, the hominid, but evidence of human activity has been found in other parts of Africa, where the hominid have not been before. They migrated from Africa to other parts of the world. Here, the Homo sapiens adapted to new environmental changes, included the cold conditions of the Ice Age. Due to this, humans then migrated to warmer land in Eurasia, where they then again, learned to adjust to the newer environment. Many paintings in the caves of Eurasia were left behind. Boats were used by humans to migrate into Australia. The people of Australia, known as the Aboriginals, became more modern and stayed that way even when other migrants came over. This, created the time period, Dreamtime. To get into the Americas, our ancestors of the Dreamtime were forced to go through difficult lands, some by land, and some to believe, by sea. In the Americas, culture changed. It was known as the Clovis culture. The hunting and gathering traditions of the Clovis people spread across North America. The culture of this people then began to die down due to the fall of existence of many of the large mammals they hunted. Some continued to hunt, while others began the tradition of farming. The homo sapiens of the Americas then sailed through the Pacific, carrying plants and animals in their canoes. They hoped to find and settle into new land. The Paleolithic society almost became extinct due to an eruption of a volcano on the island of Sumatra. They later adapted to fatal conditions and were back up and running. Population grew again, but because the people were constantly migrating to other lands, the amount of hunting and gathering was very low. Later, roles of men and women began to form and hunting and gathering became more popular. Their methods, although, ruined the environment and made it harder for humans to live and caused global warming.
